A $2 million visitor center may be on its way to Jacksonville

News4Jax is reporting that the Jacksonville City Council may be prepared to approve the build of a new visitor center in downtown Jacksonville at the price of $2 million.

The center is slated to be built inside the Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts next to the Jacksonville Landing. The city has been looking for new ways to revitalize downtown Jacksonville and this is just one of many plans for the area.

Funding for the visitor center would be provided by the tourist development council. There's no word on what all would be included in the center, but it is supposed to include an outdoor projection wall.
